Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has expressed deep appreciation to the people of the Southern Zone for organizing a civic reception in his honor, held at Government Secondary School, Wukari.

In his address, Governor Kefas described the event as a celebration of unity and shared vision.

Acknowledging the concerns of citizens, particularly about road infrastructure, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to delivering meaningful development to the people in all areas.

He also highlighted efforts to maintain peace and strengthen traditional institutions, including resolving issues at Kwararafa University.

While recognizing the state’s financial limitations, Kefas emphasized that his trips outside Taraba are aimed at attracting development partners, not personal indulgence. He pledged to continue working in the best interest of the people, even though he is not without flaws.

The event, organized by communities across Wukari, Takum, Donga, Ussa, and Yangtu LGAs, celebrated the Governor’s achievements and leadership.

Chief John Mamman, head of the organizing committee, applauded traditional rulers for initiating the event and praised the unity and support of the Southern Zone.

Former Governor Jolly Nyame who also attended the event encouraged Governor Kefas to remain resilient and committed to the course of good governance.

He revealed that a UK investor expressed interest in building a five-star hotel in Jalingo during the recent investment summit—a move expected to boost Taraba’s development.

Nyame also called for unity among Tarabans and pledged his support for the current administration.

The event featured the presentation of an award to Governor Kefas by the Gara Donga on behalf of the Southern Taraba people, honoring his dedication and forward-thinking leadership. Notable attendees included representatives from neighboring states and traditional leaders from across Nigeria.
