Kefas boosts inter-govt collaboration, re-allocates land for federal secretariat in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has re-allocated six hectares of land for construction of Federal Secretariat Complex in Jalingo, Taraba State Capital.

Alhaji Ahmad Rabiu, Controller of Housing, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, stated this while addressing newsmen in Jalingo.

Rabiu said the re-allocation of the land was part of the Taraba State Government’s efforts towards resolving the early controversy surrounding the allocation of a former site for the project.

He said the six hectares of land, a newly approved site, was part of the Taraba State Broadcasting Service (TSBS) Office, located along the Jalingo-Mile Six Federal High Way in Jalingo.

The Controller, who commended Governor Agbu Kefas for resolving the early controversy surrounding the allocation, noted that the contractor was working hard to relocate the transmission mass to the new site as directed by the Government so as to hit the ground running.

He said that the reallocation which was made through the Bureau for Land and Survey, had prompted the Government to direct the contractor handling the project to relocate the transmission mass used by the TSBS to another location before the commencement of the project.

He gave assurance that the job would commence in earnest as soon as all those encumbrances were resolved.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the construction of the Federal Secretariat Complex Project in 2023 to UYK Nigeria Limited for the period of 18 months.

Although, former Governor Darius Ishaku had earlier allocated a five hectares land for the project. The project was however, stalled when the present administration reallocated the same site for the construction of Kefas Ultra Modern Shopping Complex.
