FG Launches Digital Portal for Reporting Housing Fraud, Assures Strict Enforcement

by Christiana Babayo

The Federal Government has launched a new digital platform designed to combat fraudulent activities in housing estates across Nigeria.

According to a statement from the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on Tuesday, the Housing Fraud Reporting Portal will enable citizens to file complaints, upload evidence, and monitor the status of their cases in real time.

The ministry explained that the platform, developed in collaboration with technical consultants Freestone Investments Limited and Prunedge Development Technologies Limited, represents a major step toward strengthening accountability and transparency in the real estate sector.

It emphasized that fraudulent practices within housing estates will no longer be condoned, warning that perpetrators will face the full weight of the law.

Through the portal, complaints will be jointly reviewed by the ministry and key stakeholders, including professional bodies, law enforcement agencies, and the judiciary, ensuring a coordinated response to protect citizens and restore confidence in the sector.
