Jalingo LG Chairman Presents 7.6bn 2026 Budget to Legislative Council.

The Executive Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Honourable Nuru Dantsoho, has presented the 2026 budget proposal to the Jalingo Local Government Legislative Council, describing it as “The Budget of Hope and Realisation.”

Honourable Dantsoho said the budget is driven by the belief in a brighter and more prosperous future for the people of Jalingo, and reflects the council’s collective resolve to improve livelihoods, stimulate local economic activities, and build a legacy of enduring infrastructure.

According to the chairman, the total budget estimate for the 2026 fiscal year stands at ₦7,668,559,719.97.
Out of this amount, ₦3,712,248,395.27 is earmarked for capital expenditure, while ₦3,946,311,324.67 is allocated to recurrent expenditure.

He explained that the financial plan is anchored on three key principles: prudence in financial management, accountability through transparent processes, and inclusive grassroots development.

Honourable Dantsoho disclosed that the capital expenditure component of the budget will be strategically deployed to critical sectors including transportation and urban development, primary healthcare, water and sanitation, agriculture and empowerment, public utilities, as well as security.

The chairman noted that the 2026 budget was carefully designed to accelerate infrastructural development across the local government area and enhance the quality of public service delivery to residents.

Responding, the Leader of the Jalingo Local Government Legislative Council, Honourable Abdussam Ibrahim Joda, commended the executive chairman for the timely presentation of the budget proposal.

He assured that the legislative council would work closely with the executive arm to ensure speedy consideration and implementation of the budget in order to fast-track development in Jalingo.
