Muslims have been charged to foster trust and show love to their neighbors in order to promote peace in society.
This was the central message of Eid El-Fitr prayer sermon delivered by the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque in Jalingo, Mallam Nurudeen Mohammad Dinga, at the main Eid ground in Jalingo.

He further highlighted that one of the Prophet Muhammad’s key characteristics was trustworthiness, to the point where even non-Muslims of his time regarded him as the trustworthy.

In his address shortly after the prayer, the Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Njidda Tafida stated that peace is the foundation of any society and must be embraced.
He also commended the state governor and the Brigade Commander of the 36th Battalion for their continuous efforts in maintaining peace in the state.
The Emir noted that while security issues were once a common occurrence in the state commending the commitments of the governor and the Brigade Commander, the insecurity that once plagued the state has now been significantly reduced.
