After decades of living in darkness, the people of Sayonti in Mayo-Lope, Lau Local Government Area, have a new reason to celebrate.
Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau, representing Taraba North Senatorial District, has officially commissioned the Mayo-Lope Rural Electrification Project, a major step towards transforming the lives of residents.

In a double stride towards rural development, Senator Lau also flagged off a fresh electrification project for Abbare village.
Speaking during the events, the Senator emphasized that both projects are part of his broader commitment to fulfilling the promises made during his election campaign.
He assured residents of Abbare, Daunada, and neighboring communities that their long wait for electricity would soon come to an end.
Senator Lau took the opportunity to call on the people to protect the infrastructure, warning against acts of sabotage.
According to him, the electrification projects are meant to stimulate economic growth and uplift living standards across the region.

Senator Shu’aibu Lau also lauded the Executive Chairman of Lau Local Government Area, Hon. Nigeria S. Jatua, for his proactive role in drawing attention to the needs of the communities.
Expressing his gratitude, Hon. Jatua described the electrification initiative as a landmark achievement that would breathe new life into the local economy and foster socio-economic development in the benefiting areas.
Meanwhile, Senator Lau also graced the Sungki Yandang Carnival, held in Sanwi Chiefdom, Sayonti. In his address, he commended the Yandang people for their enduring spirit of peace and unity.
He particularly thanked His Royal Highness, Daah Kpang-Sanwi of Sanwi Chiefdom, Pastor Haniel Banti, for his support to community development efforts.
Reaffirming his dedication to grassroots transformation, Senator Shu’aibu Lau promised more developmental projects for Sanwi Chiefdom and the entire Lau Local Government Area.

He also expressed appreciation for the continuous support from traditional leaders and the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas.
On his part, the traditional ruler, Daah Kpang-Sanwi, Pastor Haniel Banti, commended Senator Lau for connecting the community to the national grid.
