The Chairman of the Taraba State Bureau for Peace and Conflict Management, Bishop Innocent Rubiruka Solomon, has led a delegation on a peace sensitization tour across Gassol, Wukari, and Ibi local government areas, with stakeholders commending Agbu Kefas for establishing the bureau to address conflicts and promote stability.
The tour, according to Bishop Solomon, is aimed at fostering peace, strengthening dialogue, and encouraging community participation in conflict prevention across Taraba State.
During courtesy visits to Gassol and Wukari councils, he urged local authorities to constitute peace committees that would deepen grassroots engagement and support sustainable conflict-resolution mechanisms.
He also met with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria and local Muslim councils, calling on them to uphold the core values of their faiths and guide adherents toward peaceful coexistence, security, and development.
The chairman noted that the bureau recently launched a five-year strategic plan and accompanying fact sheet designed to curb conflicts and enhance social harmony across the state.
Responding, Gassol Council Chairman Adamu Idris pledged collaboration with the bureau to establish a functional peace committee in the area. Similarly, Wukari Council Chairman Dr. Bala Hussaini Aji applauded the governor for creating the bureau and appointing what he described as competent and experienced officials to manage its affairs, assuring continued support for its initiatives.
Also speaking, Wukari Muslim Council Chairman Jafaru Danbaba said the Muslim community values all efforts that promote peace and promised cooperation with the bureau.

In the same vein, CAN Coordinator in Wukari, Rev. Ezra N. Babale, commended the state government for entrusting the agency to capable hands and affirmed the readiness of the Christian community to partner with it to achieve meaningful impact.

The peace tour forms part of ongoing state-backed initiatives aimed at strengthening dialogue, preventing conflicts, and fostering unity among diverse communities in Taraba
