Following the recent crisis in Karim Lamido LGA, the Governor Dr Agbu Kefas has given the directive for the establishment of a Peace and Justice Commission.
This is contained in a press release signed by Barr. Zainab Usman JalingoHonourable Commissioner,Ministry of lnformation and Re-orientation,and made available to Newsmen in Jalingo.
According to the directive, a dedicated prosecutorial team has been set up along side the Commission to ensure that those found wanting do not go unpunished, all as part of a comprehensive post-crisis response plan.
As part of the efforts, humanitarian relief and reconciliation efforts have also commenced.
According to Secretary to the Government of the State, Bar Gebon Timothy Kataps, the Commission will be headed by Hon. Justice Silas Haruna, as Chairman and Barr. Nierus Johnson as Secretary.
Representatives of CAN, Muslim Council, NCWS, NYCN,NDLEA, CSO, Police and HRM Bar. Sopiya Ahmnadu Gboshi (Chief of Takum) will serve as members.
